Would you like to master Philippines public speaking?

Many public speakers learn to speak by taking classes and attending seminars. One of the most important aspects of mastering public speaking is actual speaking.

An alternative and sometimes less expensive way to learn is reading books.

There is a third option. It is a bit more challenging to use. It requires more effort than the other ways. You may find that if you learn with this third way and you will improve faster and learn more than any other method.

How to Master Philippines Public Speaking

To master public speaking, start teaching public speaking. It is that simple.

How do you teach it. It is a process.

Start with the Speaking Skills List.

This is the list of skills needed to become a master of public speaking. Load the list to a spread sheet. Create a grading system that will allow you to simply grade a public speaker from plain to good to great.

Then find someone to partner up with. Within your network of friends or colleagues, find someone who will grade you and you can grade them.

To start off, only pick two of the skills to work on. Keep adding two more skills as you progress in your abilities. Now have your fellow critic to counsel you.

We want to be positive when we counsel others so as not to offend or hurt the feelings of others. Make sure and tell them that your looking for how you can do even better. So if they see any area of the two you can improve in, please let you know.

Likewise with your counsel, ask politely how far they want you to go. Make sure they tell you what they want to know. Have them even go so far as to give you an example of what they would like to hear in the way of counsel.

By teaching and critiquing each other, you will grow much faster than just taking classes.

Another Way to Master Public Speaking

Suppose there is nobody to partner up with. What will you do then?

Simply use the list and grade the speakers you hear. Only do it from two different viewpoints. One from the challenges you face. The other from skills you would like to imitate.

The Challenges You Face

You may have a challenge with gestures or pausing. You may know you talk too much but are having a hard time correcting it. By watching others and seeing what they do wrong, you will better appreciate the need to change.

You will see how you look.

Word of caution. If your grading another speaker, do not keep the list with you. Unless your asked to grade the speaker, you will look aloof and it could be considered rude.

However, some brief notes to remind yourself of what you saw that you liked will help you progress.

Then put what you learn to work in your next public speech.

Master Philippines public speaking, speak well and prosper.
